why is everybody getting freakin’ married?!?!?

June has just passed, and here comes July. still the parade of brides wistfully smiling and grinning from the prospect of love and the big "M" word, seems to be, regrettably and irritatingly endless…no offense to those June-July brides…guess its just my mindless, not to mention cynical, allergy to the prospect of marriage. The very word gives me goosebumps…i have nothing against it, believe me. and im even happy for those who get into it. reallly! did my share of sighing over wedding photos (esp., my favorite-considered-wedding -of-the-year-wedding: Tagaytay…sigh…) and drooling over wedding cakes and those cute ideas for souvenirs….but really…do they have to swarm all over you in these two months?! June-July Brides….CLiche’?

Don’t get me wrong…I’m not afraid of commitment. I’m just not ready to face the music yet…y’know be tied down. my bestfirend and my brother…both are planning to get themselves settled down by next year…and guess when–yep! sometime around June-July. WHY?!  How did the idea even surface? That the perfect month to get hitched is round these two J’s?

A friend of mine attended 4 weddings during the month of June, this year. He’s anticipating on going to 3 more this month. what gives?

Theory: A lot of guys actually find Christmas(December), New Year (January) and Valentine’s Day (February) a very romantic time to propose marriage. Thus, 6 months of gruelling preparations later, come June-July, a new couple has just been initiated into wedded bliss not to mention, to endless bouts of LEGAL sex!

Another Theory: It’s the middle of the year…actually avoiding the Christmas and Lenten season. The churchs’ activities slow down to a trickle during these months.

Any other inputs?

anyway, i just wanted to get these thoughts outta my head. gotta get back to work now. got a wedding to plan…

just kidding…  ;)
